a divergent tired monk poem

i)

i ain't joining
that is how we say it up here
that's right:
i ain't joining
that is how we do it up here

ii)

our robes
wrapped against the world

iii)

shovels snow
pens poems

touching archetypes...
...that is how we do it up here

  1. can we sit so quietly by
    can we walk only
    and watch the trees

    and is that right
    and is there wrong
and might there be a difference

    how large are your robes
is there room enough for one more

  2. it's a tempting way of life. i don't know about you but i've got a real knack for it. shoveling snow, penning poems. why the hell should i join?
i tell myself. i tell myself cause there's no one else around.

    great stuff this.

  9. Touch too many archetypes and they will be touching you?...I find joining always leads inevitably to unjoining, therefore seems like a bit of a waste.

  10. haha! Speaks volumes...I'm crap at joining- I like to cheer from the side, especially if I get to sit down with pen and paper to do it ;-)

  15. Dear Ollie

I enjoyed the simplistic way this poem flows... I liked your lines ...
    'our robes
    wrapped against the world'
    Very much.. so true...
