dawn fox

turkey feathers blow loose
twirl in the wind
just off the trail

old fox slinks home
low in the first dawn shadows
sated, but cold

  2. Triumph it seems is always short circuited upon reflection. Once can't control everything can one?

Anyway, on another note, the area I live in is 'over run' with wild turkeys it would seem. I see them often along the rural roads. They even invade the neighbourhoods close by. Bold creatures in need of a few more foxes ;)

  3. Sad for the turkey, but the balance of nature is what it is. The sly fox reigns supreme.

  12. As any fox would tell you, sated and cold is better than un-sated and cold.

  14. I love how the feathers are not torn loose, but blown. It's total aftermath where temperature can be the focus again.

  16. Ollie, don't visit the site above. It is SPAM!! Delete the comment, that's my advice.

Loved this simple poem about "a day in the life." The old fox slinking home... sated. Hey, that's a hell of a lot more natural than me going to the store to buy chicken wrapped in cellophane, no?

    Great job! Peace, Amy
